Every year around Halloween, the Natural History Museum puts on a big event for it's members. Primarily oriented towards a younger audience, Haunted Museum allows the space of the museum to be transformed for a one night only event full of science and spooks. This year's theme, Monsters Among Us, deals with monsters big and small that are all around us and within the collections. The invitation was designed as a storytelling piece, leading viewers into the haunted space of the museum through fun illustrations, clever die-cuts, and an innovative folded self-contained mailer.

As each panel of the invitation is unfolded, die-cuts slowly reveal the story. Each panel unveils a new setting and line of the story as we move deeper into the museum.

A day-of map was developed featuring the same illustrations and visual language of the invitation. With this in hand, participants safely navigated the haunted grounds in search of hidden monsters.
I carved a pumpkin for use on-site during the night of the event as well as promotion through NHM's social media accounts.
